As the entire world is covered by water, our roads are surrounded by death. But as God created land to keep us breathing, I pray his salvation could be found in His Son. Please save us who are drowning for we are all like Peter.

  2. Carpe Diem

    “Seize the day”

I don’t know much about life and death, but I figured that if I knew the exact time I would happen to die, then I would view life a bit differently. Death is the absence of life as darkness is the absence of light. I think people have evolved socially and culturally to work towards something, a goal, dream, education, job, etc., to have some grasp of control in their lives. We work hard to be able to voice out our feelings and opinions, and only with some worth will our voice have some weight. And of course with wealth will we be able to eat the food we want, drive the car we want, and live the lifestyle that will be most pleasing to us. But besides what humans can toil towards, I feel that we really don’t have any control at all. We can’t control everyday disasters, natural disasters, death, accidents, or even what we can term “luck”. So in sense, about 50% of our lives is determined by something we cannot control. By God’s mercy may we live a fulfilling life worthy of “being created for His glory”, but when we reach that “deathbed” situation, I pray that I won’t say things like “I wish I could have done things differently”, but rather say that “Despite my flaws I seized my life and it was glorious.”

Evolution is what I can control, but revolution is in God’s hands.

  3. *An old photo
I miss my brother Aaron. I had many friends in High School but was never really close to anyone in particular. Maybe it was my own fault for always hanging out with upperclassmen, but I believe that I possess an innate weakness which leads me to stray away from any sort of friendly communication. Now that I graduated from College and came back to my “hometown”, I find myself friendless. But Aaron stuck by my side and kept me company. And now he’s in the U.S. Army.
I’ve received a letter from him letting me know that he’s doing fine and shared with me some of the experiences from basic training (poor man was forced into a gas chamber on his birthday). I can’t help myself but to look down and wonder if I’m progressing or remaining static while everyone is moving ahead. I can’t help but to wonder if I’ll suddenly find myself drifted away with the flow of time.
I definitely can’t take anything for granted anymore. Aaron, my closest friend I wish you well. Stay healthy always.
Always, with genuine love.

  5. It’s only been about 2 weeks since I came back from Korea, but I’m afraid bits of memories and lessons I’ve experienced are slowly becoming a blur. It’s really a shame. I’ve heard someone say that your IQ level increases the more you travel, and I think there’s some truth in that. I’m not really so sure about the IQ part, but you do get to open your eyes to the differences of living, culture, and even setting.
But something more important than making memories or opening your mind to a new culture is leaving God’s fingerprints everywhere we step. The family on my mother’s side was majority Buddhist, but after two visits in the span of 3 years and endless praying, now more than half attend church. That is something that goes beyond our years on Earth.

  6. I’m (not) Invincible

I’ve lost blood circulation on my last two fingers of my right hand for about a month now from an arm injury. I’d rather not say how I injured my arm (it’s stupid), but I’ve realized something over the past couple of months. I’m not invincible.

Not only did I do some long-term damage to my fingers, but about a year ago I’ve injured my right shoulder from playing basketball. That shoulder injury lasted for half a year. And on average, I would catch the cold once a year, but in 2010 I’ve gotten sick more than three times. Also, I’m facing indigestion in the upper abdomen and constipation. I’m only 23, but I feel old.

Not only that, but the real world is quite a scary place especially when you don’t know where you’re heading. I’m jobless, stuck at home remodeling my parent’s new place, making them dinner, cleaning the house and feeling somewhat useless. As of now, I’m just looking for work, trying to mature myself and planning to start school this coming September.

Andrew, you’re not the only one lacking clarity brother.

Despite everything though, happy six months Paula. You help me find wisdom during the times I want to be immature.

    Simcha.
